Flowering in Conversation

Flowering in Conversation (2018) was exhibited at the Halekulani Gallery in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. The exhibition combined five paintings with a collaborative performance in which participants created a single flower arrangement together.

The act of arranging flowers becomes a shared rhythm—many hands placing color, building tempo through collective gesture. Within the paintings, Gustav Courbet’s Woman with a Parrot appears as a point of dialogue, recalling how women have historically been placed in art while suggesting new meanings when that positioning is reimagined.
